3M’s new Particulate Respirator 9211 is designed for optimum comfort while performing grinding, sanding, sweeping, bagging and other operations that create dust.
The respirator features a low-profile collapse-resistant design, 3M’s patented Cool Flow Exhalation Valve, and a soft nose foam pad. Respirators are individually packaged to improve convenience and to help prevent contamination during storage.
Product Features
According to 3M, the respirator allows for a good field of vision, is compatible with protective eyewear, and fits a wide range of face sizes.
The low profile allows improved visibility and is compatible with a wide range of safety equipment, while the Cool Flow Exhalation Valve is positioned for cool, easy breathing, the company says.
3M 9200 Series respirators also feature a soft web on the inner panels to improve comfort against the skin. Wide headbands provide a comfortable and secure face seal, according to 3M. This respirator contains no components made from natural rubber latex.
Usage Warnings, Notes
Uses would also include solids such as those from textile operations, dry chemical handling, surface preparation, processing of minerals, and certain other substances.
The respirators are not to be used for gases and vapors, including those present in paint spraying operations, oil aerosols, asbestos or sandblasting; or for aerosol concentrations that exceed 10 times the OSHA PEL, or applicable government regulations, whichever is lower. This respirator does not supply oxygen. If the respirator becomes damaged or soiled, or if breathing becomes difficult, users should leave the contaminated area and replace the respirator.
Before use of this respirator, a written respirator protection program must be implemented meeting all the requirements of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 such as training and fit testing, 3M notes.
