The Valspar Corp. has announced the appointment of Roeland H. Polet as Senior Vice President, Global Industrial, with worldwide responsibility for the General Industrial and Coil Coatings lines.
Polet, 47, joins Valspar from Celanese, where he served in a number of executive business leadership roles. Most recently, he was Vice President and General Manager of Ticona, a Celanese subsidiary that produces high-performance plastic materials for a wide variety of industries.
Prior to Celanese, Polet was CEO of Carbolite Foods. Before that, he worked for DSM Corp. as Vice President, Commercial and Research & Development, NAFTA region.
Polet, who becomes an officer of the company, will report to Valspar President and CEO Gary E. Hendrickson.
Polet is a native of the Netherlands and holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Economics from State University of New York at Buffalo.
Valspar’s General Industrial Coatings division (http://www.valsparindustrial.com) includes high-performance custom liquid and powder coatings, as well as specialized products for a diverse group of general-industry markets. Valspar’s coil-applied coatings are warranted for use over aluminum, Hot Dipped Galvanized (HDG) G-90 Steel, and Galvalume.
