Munters Moisture Control Services (MCS) Division and its affiliates have separated from Munters Group and are now operating as an independent global company known as Polygon (www.polygongroup.com).
As of Oct. 1, the former MCS division is wholly owned by Triton and operates in all countries on a standalone basis. MCS continues using the “Munters” name as a licensee for a transitional period.
The company services the property damage restoration and Temporary Humidity Control markets.
The company noted in a statement that it had been operating under several different brand names around the world, and “with our vision of significant investment and growth in mind, we have taken the opportunity to create a unified new name and distinct global brand for ourselves.”
In deciding upon its new name, the company said it had sought one that would “reflect what we do, how we do it, and how it benefits our customers and our people.”
About Polygon
Polygon was already an established brand for the company in the Nordic region. Munters purchased Oslo-based Polygon AS in 2002.
Polygon “is also the name given to a shape of many sides which we can use to represent the philosophy of our organization: Response, Reliability and Results for the prevention and mitigation of the effects of fire, water and humidity,” the company said.
Polygon serves the surface preparation, protective coatings and other industries with temporary humidity control solutions.
“Correctly installed, our dehumidification equipment effectively stops corrosion of the blasted metal surface and allows the contractor to 'hold-the-blast' for days or weeks, rather than hours, before painting,” the company says. “This provides an increased life for the coatings, better controlled work schedules and reduced downtime, leading to improved productivity and greater profitability.”

Founded in 1955, the Stockholm-based Munters Group provides indoor climate solutions for customers in pharmaceuticals, food, electronics, agriculture and other industries. The Group employs about 2,200 people in about 30 countries.
