Harsco Corp. has announced the appointment of Daniel S. McAtee as President of Harsco Minerals, succeeding Gene A. Iannazzo, who becomes Chief Commercial Officer for Harsco Metals and Harsco Minerals.
“Dan’s arrival gives us a seamless succession backed by significant hands-on global operations experience as Gene steps into his new role as Chief Commercial Officer,” said executive vice president and group CEO Galdino Claro, to whom both men will report.
“Both of these positions are critical to our transformation from expert service provider to integrated solutions developer, in concert with the largest and most advanced players in our industries.”

Daniel S. McAtee

McAtee joins Harsco Minerals with more than 20 years of experience in senior management that includes the executive leadership of multinational operations at General Electric and Tyco Plastics and Adhesives.
At Tyco, McAtee led an operating network of more than 23 locations worldwide. At GE, he was responsible for guiding successful international growth and joint ventures in China and Asia. He also led the integration of Six Sigma continuous improvement initiatives within several GE operations, including its $1.3 billion Power Equipment business and its Superabrasives units in Europe and the United States.
Most recently, McAtee served as President and CEO of Tree Island Industries, a leading producer of wire products for a diverse range of construction, agricultural, manufacturing and industrial applications.
McAtee holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Colorado and pursued graduate studies in business administration at The Ohio State University.
Gene A. Iannazzo

Iannazzo has successfully led the integration and growth of Harsco Minerals since the business group was established in January 2009. As Chief Commercial Officer for Harsco Metals and Harsco Minerals, he will be responsible for leading strategies for long-term profitable growth.
Iannazzo joined Harsco’s senior management team in 2001and brings to his new responsibilities more than 30 years of global experience in the metals and minerals industries.
He serves on the Board of Directors of the American Iron and Steel Institute and the Board of Trustees of the Association for Iron & Steel Technology, and is a current Director and Past Chairman of the National Slag Association.
