DuPont has made key changes in its Performance Coatings leadership, naming John G. McCool as President to replace Terry Caloghiris, who becomes President of Strategic Initiatives.
Both appointments were effective Nov. 1.
Terry Caloghiris

Caloghiris, 59, has held a range of senior leadership roles around the world in business management, sales, marketing, technical and operations during his 31-year career with DuPont. His tenure includes senior positions in sales marketing, technical, manufacturing and business management in the Polymers, Packaging, Electronics, Films, and Nylon businesses, including assignments in Europe, Asia and the Americas.
Since 1998, Mr. Caloghiris has served as vice president and general manager of various DuPont businesses, including Global Nylon Industrial, Nylon Asia Pacific, Packaging & Industrial Polymers, Engineering Polymers and Performance Coatings Transformation. In January 2006, he was named group vice president of DuPont Coatings & Color Technologies. In October 2009, he became president of Performance Coatings.
Caloghiris, a native of Cairo, Egypt, has degrees in metallurgy and French from the Universities of Surrey, in the United Kingdom, and Caen, in France. After election as a chartered engineer, he worked in the steel, machine tool industries, and in nuclear research, before joining DuPont.
John G. McCool

McCool, 57, most recently served as Vice President of Performance Coatings for the company’s Europe-Middle East-Africa (EMEA) region. He also has held a variety of leadership positions since joining DuPont in 1976 in the Accounting & Business Analysis Division of Textile Fibers Department in Wilmington, DE. In 1991, he was named manufacturing superintendent—and, in 1993, global business manager—for DuPont Cronar films in Brevard, NC. Since 1997, McCool has held positions with DuPont Power, Global Sourcing and Logistics, DuPont Fluorochemicals and DuPont Refinish Systems. He was named vice president of DuPont Performance Coatings – Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA) in October 2009.
McCool holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting from the University of Delaware, an MBA from Wilmington College, and a Kellogg Executive Scholar degree from Kellogg School of Management.
