SMGlobal has released FastMaint CMMS v. 5.3, a software application designed to simplify the management of plant, facility, building and fleet maintenance.
The software allows managers to set up preventive maintenance schedules and practices for equipment, vehicles and facilities. When an unexpected situation arises, the software may be used to create a work order, allocate resources, assign the situation to the proper person, and track progress, the manufacturer says.
Users can create templates to develop work orders, and unplanned and scheduled maintenance work orders. All maintenance tasks can be scheduled automatically. A work order database system includes fields for status tracking, job cost reviews, and inventory tracking and reordering.
New Features
Version 5.3 introduces enhancements to the reporting system, including easier-to-read charts and a new work-order analysis that purportedly makes it simpler to manage breakdowns.
FastMaint CMMS Standard Edition supports purchase order creation and printing, as well as bar-code processing. It removes the Basic Edition's limitation of a maximum of 40 maintenance task templates and 40 equipment and location definitions.
The Professional Edition includes multi-user and network support, as well as the choice of SQL Server or Access database support. FastMaint CMMS Web provides the Professional Edition functionality, with all processing accessible using an ordinary web browser.
FastMaint CMMS v. 5.3 runs under Windows XP/Vista/20008/7. Prices begin at $495(US) for a single-user license.
SMGlobal Inc. has supplied software for plant, facility and fleet maintenance since 2002.
