Kaltenbach Group

Fresh off the formation of a new Shot Blast and Painting Systems subsidiary, the Kaltenbach Group has again expanded its structural-steel reach via a new partnership with inTEC Coating Systems.

The strategic painting and coatings system partnership between the two companies means that inTEC’s painting systems will be represented and sold worldwide through the Kaltenbach sales network.

InTEC, based in Solingen, Germany, is an international, market-leading manufacturer of automated, roller-bed painting systems for steel sections, beams and plate. Its products include primer and top coating systems; UV pipe coating systems; paint delivery systems; pre- and after dryers; and coatings chambers for marine, rail and other applications.

Single Source for Painting, Shot Blasting

The Kaltenbach Group, based in Lörrach, Germany, makes pre- and post-fabrication shot blasting and painting equipment as well as other equipment for processing steel.

Kaltenbach, founded in 1887, also has “become involved financially with inTEC’s activities, thereby further extending its leading market position as a system provider for sectional and plate steel processing,” the companies said in a statement. The statement did not clarify the nature or terms of the companies’ financial involvement.

“Steel customers can now get all the machines they need for all their processing steps from a single source…,” the companies said. “This results in important synergy effects with high customer benefit.”

The inTEC partnership “further strengthens the Kaltenbach Group and its ongoing supply of comprehensive, integrated structural steel line processing systems, which includes shot-blasting, painting” and more, the companies said.

U.S. Distribution

Kaltenbach Inc., the U.S. division of Kaltenbach GmbH, underwent a name change in May, following a management buyout, and is now known as Structural Machinery Solutions Inc. The company is based in Columbus, IN. Call 812.342.4471 or email mac@smscolumbus.com.

The Kaltenbach Group recently formed the subsidiary company, Kaltenbach SPS (Shot blast and Painting Systems) B.V., after the November 2009 acquisition of bankrupt Gietart BV, Holland, a leading shot-blast machine manufacturer and structural steel painting systems specialist. InTEC had been a supplier to Gietart and Kaltenbach for 15 years, with over 250 coating systems installed globally, including many in the UK.
