Advanced Polymer Inc. has introduced two new nonionic fluorosurfactants. designed to improve the wetting and leveling characteristics of paints, inks, coatings and polishes at very low loading levels.
APFS-70S and APFS-71S provide greater surface tension reduction than can be achieved with hydrocarbon- or silicone-based surfactants, the manufacturer says. They are especially effective on difficult-to-wet substrates such as plastics, oily or waxy surfaces, and silicone or fluoropolymer treated fabrics, according to the company.
APFS-70S and APFS-71S are based on short chain fluoropolymer technology and, as such, are considered to be non-PFOA contributing.
For almost 40 years, Advanced Polymer Inc., based in Carlstadt, NJ, has developed compliant materials that enhance the performance of products for a wide range of industries including paint and coatings, auto and marine care, and adhesives.
