MAPEI's Concrete Restoration Systems has introduced two new high-performance joint sealants for multiple types of industrial settings and substrates.
Mapeflex P1 and Mapeflex P1 SL polyurethane sealants adhere to concrete, masonry, brick, wood, steel, aluminum, painted metal and natural stone, while providing flexibility for moving joints, the company says.
Mapeflex P1 can be used in horizontal and vertical applications for moving expansion joints of all kinds where material is applied between 1/4"and 1/2" (6 and 12 mm) in depth. Mapeflex P1 SL is a self-leveling sealant that can be used for sealing moving horizontal joints on sidewalks, plaza decks, industrial floors, parking garages and pitch pans.
Developed with fast-track projects in mind, Mapeflex P1 and P1 SL boast rapid curing times, becoming tack-free within three hours. The manufacturer says the cured products have high abrasion, tear and weathering resistance. Both sealants meet the requirements of ASTM C920 and Class 25 (joint movement of +/- 25% after installation).
