Atlas Material Testing Solutions has released the Atlas UVTest device for accelerated weathering and a durability testing program with coastal/marine option.
Atlas UVTest
Atlas UVTest is a fluorescent, UV testing device for accelerated weathering.
The unit features touch-screen operation and control, pre-programmed and custom tests. It has high maximum irradiance levels of >1.55 UVA and >1.23 UVB, according to the company.
A spray recirculation system is available with a 53-liter tank, pump, strainer and demineralizer filter cartridge. Also available is UView data acquisition software, featuring remote monitoring and automatic configuration.
Atlas 25PLUS
The Atlas 25PLUS test program can determine the durability of photovoltaic modules with instrumental and outdoor exposure testing. The program consists of a comprehensive battery of accelerated tests with laboratory and outdoor environmental exposures targeting the long-term product “wear-out” period.
The product involves test parameters that are realistically climate based; environmental stresses such as temperature, moisture, and solar radiation; and light exposure under resistive load at the max power point, according to the company.
A coastal/marine option can be added to either the standard “Global Composite” or “Tropical/Subtropical” climate tracks. The coastal/marine option adds an additional PV module to the program and extends the total test time to 13 months from 12 months. The additional module is exposed at the Atlas sub-tropical, South Florida test site and is sprayed five days a week with synthetic seawater.
