Kryton International Inc. has developed a new three-step restoration and protection system for above-grade concrete structures.
The Hydrostop Restore & Protect System can extend the useful life of aging concrete infrastructure and buildings, improve overall aesthetics, and offer an alternative to total replacement, says the manufacturer.
The system has three parts:
• Hydrostop Grout, featuring original crystalline technology, is a non-shrink waterproof grout that repairs cracks and defects at the concrete surface.
• Hydrostop Coating, a polymerized, cementitious slurry, is used after repair to provide a durable barrier against water and chemical intrusion and to improve the concrete’s overall aesthetics.
• Hydrostop Sealer is a blended silane-siloxane sealer designed to create a long-lasting water-repellent effect on the concrete surface.
“Over the last year, governments around the world have been introducing incentive programs to build and repair infrastructure as a way of stimulating local economies,” says Kryton vice president Kevin Yuers. “We wanted to develop a restoration and protection system that would make engineers’ lives easier as they tackled these projects.”
Maintenance engineers and specifiers should appreciate that the product is a complete, compatible system designed to work together, the manufacturer says.
Kryton, founded in 1973, develops, manufactures and markets a wide range of products designed to waterproof, repair and protect concrete structures.
