Protective coatings manufacturer Rhino Linings Corp. has announced the acquisition of coatings equipment supplier Tobin Manufacturing LLC.

The acquisition provides Rhino with a wider customer base and a stronger market position in the polyurethane industry, the company said.

“This acquisition strengthens our commitment and position as one of the leading polyurethane systems houses,” said Rhino Linings president and CEO Pierre Gagnon. “Tobin Manufacturing’s equipment portfolio fits well with our existing plans for expansion into the custom molding industry. We see great potential in this part of the industry."

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

About the Companies

Rhino Linings, founded in 1988, is a global provider of protective polyurethane, polyurea, polyaspartic and epoxy coatings. Business units include Rhino Linings, Rhino Industrial, Rhino Epoxy, Rhino Home Pro and Rhino Military.

Tobin Manufacturing was established in 1974 as a manufacturer of a two-component positive displacement meter/mix/dispense machines to dispense polyurethane elastomers into molds for high-volume production.

Tobin, based in Redlands, CA, will relocate its operations to the Rhino facilities in San Diego, CA.
