The Sherwin-Williams Company has completed its fifth acquisition in just over two years, closing a $227 million agreement to purchase Becker Industrial Products AB.
The Stockholm-based company, founded in Sweden in 1874, has nine production sites, 13 technical centers and sales offices in more than 40 countries worldwide.
Becker Acroma will be part of Sherwin-Williams’ rapidly growing Global Finishes Group, which supplies liquid and powder product finishes for the world OEM market through 15 manufacturing and 79 facility locations across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Europe and China. Sales in 2009 were approximately $300 million.

George E. Heath, president of the Global Finishes Group, called the acquisition of Becker Acroma “another important step in our efforts to strengthen our growing global platform to better serve our customers around the world with outstanding assets, technology and people.”
