Several conferences this fall will offer programs focusing on a range of coatings-technology topics. The events including Chinacoat; the American Coatings Association’s Advances in Coatings Series Conference on Coatings Regulations and Analytical Methods; PCI magazine’s Conference on Coatings Trends and Technologies; and the NACE-Powder Coatings Institute North American Industrial Coatings Conference.
The Chinacoat Conference, geared to a theme of “Architectural Coatings for a Sustainable World,” is scheduled for Sept. 27-28 in Guangzhou, China, in conjunction with an extensive coatings exhibition. The conference (www.chinacoat.net) includes 12 papers that deal with the use of sustainable raw materials in coatings formulations, as well as the formulation of coatings that contribute to energy efficiency.
Of particular note is the Wolfgang Wald paper, “IR-Reflective Pigments for an Enhanced Lifetime of Composite Thermal Insulation.”
“Coatings Trends and Technologies,” sponsored by PCI magazine (www.pcimag.com), is scheduled for Oct. 5-6 in Chicago. It will deal with coating of plastic substrates—the focus of this event in the past—while also addressing coating of wood and metal substrates. Among the 12 tracks is “Architectural Coatings Trends.”
The American Coatings Association’s (www.paint.org) AC Series Conference on Coatings Regulations and Analytical Methods is scheduled for Oct. 20-21 in Pittsburgh. Among the 18 papers to be presented is “Environmental Certification of Coatings” by Christine Chase of Green Seal.
The North American Industrial Coatings Conference (www.events.nace.org) is scheduled for Oct. 26-29 in Indianapolis. Included in the four tracks of the conference are the topics of factory finishing, protective coatings, and pipe coating.
