Spensieri Wins McIntosh Power Plant Project

McIntosh Power Plant

Spensieri Diversified, LLC, of Haines City, FL, recently secured a contract of $200,100 from the City of Lakeland, FL, to recoat tanks and appurtenances at McIntosh Power Plant. The 941-megawatt-capacity facility is one of two main power plants owned and operated by Lakeland Electric. The project includes coating the interiors and exteriors of five open-top water treatment tanks and the exteriors of three fuel tanks.

The project includes abrasive blast and/or power-tool cleaning the tanks and associated handrails, piping, and grating, followed by the application of various phenolic epoxy, amine epoxy, zinc, epoxy mastic, and polyurethane coatings. The contract requires containment of hazardous paint debris. The contract also includes furnishing a third-party, NACE Level III-certified coatings inspector to perform quality control services.
