Wayne Devonport, Ph.D., has joined Arkema Emulsion Systems in Cary, N.C., as a global coatings research leader, with responsibility for the global research and product-development strategy for coatings binders used in architectural formulations.
Prior to joining Arkema Emulsion Systems, Devonport was synthesis group leader for The Dow Chemical Company in Spring House, Pa.
Chris Miller, global director of research for Arkema Emulsion Systems, said Devonport “brings an excellent record of innovative thinking and commercial success in developing binders for architectural coatings.”
Devonport also worked previously as a research scientist for Cabot Corp. and as a product-development scientist for Argonaut Technologies. He is a published author in peer-reviewed publications and holds 17 patents in the U.S., EU and elsewhere.
