L&M Construction Chemicals (Omaha, Neb) introduced LiON HARD™, a high-performance lithium silicate densifier for new or existing cured concrete floors.
The product is a VOC-free, colorless, and odorless solution consisting of a pure reactive lithium-silicate chemical ion with a non-acid penetrant. The densifier also works effectively on polished-concrete surfaces to harden, densify, and protect the durable polished finish, the company says.
The densifier is reported to deeply penetrate the bare concrete surface and convert calcium hydroxide and calcium carbonate compounds into dense, insoluble, durable, flint-like wear surfaces.
The product is offered in 5-gallon and 55-gallon containers from U.S. and international distributors. The company says the product can contribute to LEED, Green Globes, or CHPS certifications and compliance with a number of air-quality standards and green-building rating systems, including ACI 302, Guide for Concrete Floor and Slab Construction, Class 1 through 6, and Class 9; NSF (supersedes USDA approval); California Air Resources Board SCM districts; Northeast Ozone Transport Commission; Maricopa County, Ariz.; SCAQMD, California; CHPS (Collaborative for High Performance Schools); OSHA and ADA non-slip requirements; and LEED Green Building Rating Systems.
