The United States Bureau of Reclamation will accept sealed bids in early July for coatings application and lead abatement on existing spillway, sluiceway, and canal headworks gates on the Yellowtail Afterbay Dam in Big Horn County, MT. The dam has a crest length of 1,360 feet and impounds the Bighorn River, approximately 2.2 miles downstream from the Yellowtail Dam.
The project, which has an estimated value of $1,000,000-$5,000,000, includes abrasive blast-cleaning and recoating spillway radial gates and arms and slide gates and frames. The contract, which requires SSPC-QP 1 certification, includes containment of the existing heavy-metal-bearing coatings. The Bureau of Reclamation will hold a pre-bid meeting on June 23, 2010.
