Behr Process Corp. (Santa Ana, Calif.) introduced a reformulated line of BEHR Premium Exterior Weatherproofing Wood Stains and Finishes for use on decks, siding, fences, and other wood elements.
The product line, based on an advanced 100% acrylic resin, provides long-term protection against sun, rain, snow, and ice, the company says. The formula is reported to allow the stains and finishes to penetrate deeper into wood fibers and provide a superior adhesive bond to the wood substrate.
The products, formulated with NanoGuard® technology, were developed to enhance resistance against moisture, UV damage, and stains, and provide improved surface protection and longevity. Stronger adhesion reduces the likelihood of peeling, improves performance over knots, and increases color retention, the company says.
As part of the introduction of the new products, the company announced the availability of eight-ounce product samples, allowing users to test color and opacity before making decisions on product purchases, or for use on smaller projects. The sample program was previously initiated for the company’s Premium Plus and Premium Plus Ultra® paint lines.
The company says new label information, as well as online and in-store resources, have been added to provide assistance with determining product amounts for varying project sizes, applicator recommendations, product-variety selection, and project inspiration.
