Mythic Paint has become the only paint manufacturer named as a founding member of the new U.S. Regenerative Network.
The Network was created “to develop a highly dynamic collaborative business consortium of leading green-building product manufacturers and service providers, including both established global companies and venture-backed startups,” the organization said in a statement on its mission.
The Network’s founder and CEO is David Gottfried, founder of the U.S. Green Building Council and World Green Building Council. He introduced the Network at a forum April 28-29 in Berkeley, Calif.
The group says it has two goals: helping members measure, set goals and improve in their organizational sustainability; and bringing members to the green-building marketplace of design professionals and buyers.
As the group’s only paint manufacturer, “Mythic Paint will follow the first goal of the Network: to use best practices in areas of sustainability and transparency to remain a leader in environmentally conscious building and services,” Mythic said in a statement.
“Mythic Paint is honored to not only be selected as a founding member, but the only paint company invited, to join the U.S. Regenerative Network,” said Mythic President Rocky Prior. “Mythic Paint brings our strength in product development and processes, as well as a culture of best practices to further the efforts of organizations looking to offer products with the lowest possible impact.”
Mythic Paint says its products are non-toxic, high performing, free of volatile organic compounds (zero VOC), and emit little or no odor. Mythic Paint, manufactured by Southern Diversified Products (SDP), was developed in cooperation with the University of Southern Mississippi.
The Regenerative Network’s inaugural biannual forum in Berkeley brought together founding members to share best practices and discuss cutting-edge green products and services. The group included senior representatives from 19 companies, 60 real-estate design groups, construction and ownership affiliates, and industry experts.
“The collaborative model will be the key to success in the 21st century, and will enable us to be here in the 22nd,” said Gottfried.
