The Commerce Department has presented Polyguard Products Inc. with the President “E” Award, recognizing individuals, companies, or organizations that contribute to U.S. export trade.
The award, created by President John F. Kennedy in 1961, was presented by Commerce Secretary Gary Locke to Nate Muncaster, Polyguard global business development director, and Shawn Eastham, vice president of the company’s Corrosion Products Group.
Locke congratulated Polyguard Products “for supporting critical export-related jobs for American workers,” adding that the Obama administration is focused on working to “get people back to work in jobs that provide security, dignity, and a sense of hope for the future. It’s businesses like yours with a proven record of success that are going to help us meet or exceed that goal,” Locke said in presenting the award to the company.
Eastham called the award a “great accomplishment” for the company. “I’m excited about our international growth opportunities for the next 10 years and beyond,” he said. “Our International Division is a big part of our company’s future plans.”
Also traveling to Washington, D.C., for the award presentation were Chich Hughes, vice president of pipeline coatings, and Dolores Dlabaj, supervisor/global sales support.
Polyguard Products, based in Ennis, Texas, is a manufacturer of pipeline coatings, waterproofing, and related products.
