The Reflective Roof Coatings Institute (RRCI) announced program plans for the institute’s 2010 Mid-Year Technical Meeting, scheduled for June 23 at Bally’s Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Nev.

The program, reflecting a theme of “Hot Issues for Cool Roofs,” will offer reports on industry news, technical developments, liability issues, and other topics of interest to the reflective roof coatings industry, the RRCI said.

The program will include an opening business session, presided over by current RRCI President Penny Gift, Republic Powdered Metals Inc. The session will offer a general overview of the industry and issues facing companies, and will include a summary of RRCI committee goals and progress for 2010.

Other program topics and speakers are:

• “New Technology for Acrylic Roof Binders,” George Daisey and Joe Rokowski, Dow Construction Chemicals;

• “How Roofs Wear Out,” Bill Kirn, National Coatings Company;

• “Green Guides and More: Liability Issues Affecting the Marketers of Green Products,” Steve Finley, Gibbons P.C.;

• “Acrylic Resins Supply Chain: Overview and Recent Issues,” Patrick Rossiello, Dow Construction Chemicals.
