Sperian Protection (Smithfield, R.I.), a manufacturer of personal protective equipment, announced that the launch of Uvex SolarPro™ safety eyewear, featuring a sport-inspired wrap-around design and variety of lens tint options.

The eyewear offers superior peripheral vision and comfort in environments where workers' protection from the sun is crucial to performance, the company says. The eyewear is described as well suited for construction, utility-line work, landscaping, oil and gas industry activities, and other outdoor applications, and is reported to provide 99.9% ultraviolet protection.

The eyewear is available in eight lens tints including mirrored, polarized and photochromic, and is 100% dielectric in design, making it safe for work in electrical environments. It also is treated with the company’s Supra-Dura® anti-scratch coating for scratch resistance, Uvextreme® anti-fog coating, and Dura-streme® dual anti-fog/anti-scratch coating options. Soft, padded temples and nosepiece provide a comfortable, non-slip fit, and four-position ratcheting temples allow adjustment of the lens angle for a close fit, the company says. The eyewear is reported to meet the ANSI Z87.1 safety standard.

SolarPro is one of four new styles introduced in the Uvex Specifix™ Collection, which also includes Uvex VersaPro™, Uvex PrecisionPro™, and Uvex ExtremePro™ protective eyewear. Each style is designed to meet the specific needs of workers in various industries.
