CDCLarue’s (Tulsa, Okla.) PB-550 Hepa Vacuum, winner of a 2010 World of Concrete Most Innovative Product award, collects and controls dust and debris generated by hand-held power tools.
The portable unit is 25 inches tall and 16 inches in diameter and lightweight, and is capable of generating more than 124 cubic feet per minute of air flow, with 87 inches of lift. The company says the patented Pulse-Bac® technology allows the unit to work for extended periods without clogging the filters, resulting in increased productivity while providing for a healthy and clean working environment when working with materials such as drywall, lead paint, concrete, stone, wood, fiberglass, asbestos and any other dry non-combustible material. The unit weighs less than 30 lbs. and operates on any standard 110-volt outlet.
The vacuum’s two-stage filtration process facilitates compliance with the new 2010 EPA mandatory standards for dust control when using power tools to cut, grind, or sand in buildings built before 1978, the company says. The first stage of filtration uses twist-on Hepa-rated H-13 filters, and the second stage filtration uses a pre-installed Hepa-certified IEST RP-CC001.4 rated filter that has been tested, serialized, labeled, and guaranteed to capture 99.97% of dust particles at..3 micron and above at a CFM flow rate of 124, the company says.
