RPM International Inc. announced that Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer P. Kelly Tompkins will resign to take a position with another company. Former CFO Robert L. Matejka will return as CFO.
RPM said Tompkins will take the position of executive vice president of legal, government affairs, and sustainability for Cliffs Natural Resources Inc., based in Cleveland. Tompkins joined RPM in 1996 as assistant general counsel, and was named chief administrative officer in 2006 and CFO in 2008.
Matejka was RPM’s chief financial officer from 2001-2007. He joined RPM in 2000 as vice president and controller, and retired in 2008. He has provided consulting services to RPM on various projects since then.
Frank C. Sullivan, chairman and CEO, said Tompkins served the company well in dealing with “a myriad of legal and business issues and opportunities.”
“Additionally, in keeping with RPM's tradition of giving back to the community, I am particularly proud of the time Kelly devoted to our community, from being president of the Cleveland Bar Association to his current work on the board of Magnificat High School,” Sullivan said.
Tompkins said it had been a “privilege to be part of a great management team" at RPM, and said the company enjoys “a solid capital structure, record levels of liquidity, and improving growth prospects.”
