NACE International, The Corrosion Society, named several new members to its board of directors at the end of its annual conference, held in March in San Antonio, Texas.
The board of directors consists of 12 directors and four officers. This year, the Houston-based association welcomed two new officers and several new directors.
The 2010-2011 president of NACE is Christopher M. Fowler, Ph.D. He is the global director of corrosion for Exova, based in West Midlands, U.K. Fowler will serve a one-year term as president and is the first European to serve as president since the mid-1990s.
Also beginning a one-year term is Oliver Moghissi, who will serve as vice-president. Moghissi is a director and head of the Materials & Technology Center at Ohio-based DNV Technologies.
Several new directors will also join the board. Ahmed M. Al-Zahrani of Saudi Aramco, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, is the West Asian and Africa Area director. Michael Ames of SAE, Inc. of Humble, Texas, is the Central Area director. James E. Feather of ExxonMobil Research & Engineering, Fairfax, Va., is the Technical and Research Activities director. Stein Olsen of Statoil Hydro, Trondheim, Norway, is the European Area director. James M. Sapp of MESA Products, Inc., Tallahassee, Fla., is the Eastern Area director. Leonardo Uller of Surplus, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is the Latin American Area director.
