Eliokem, a manufacturer of specialty chemicals including resins for paints and coatings, announced the appointment of Patrice Barthelmes as CEO.
Barthelmes was formerly vice president and director for the Packaging & Building Materials Division of Rohm & Haas Company. Following the acquisition of Rohm and Haas by The Dow Chemical Company in 2009, he was named vice president and group director of the company’s Adhesives & Functional Polymers Division.
Barthelmes started his career in 1983 as R&D manager at Air Liquide. In 1989 he joined Sanofi Group as marketing product manager, and then moved to Systems Bio Industry (SKW Group), where he successively held the positions of marketing and sales director for the Specialty Additives Division and head of the Flavors & Fruit Systems Division.
Eliokem (Villejust, France) is a manufacturer of resins used in paint, coatings, and toners, and also produces specialty materials for plastics, rubber, fabrics, carpet, and other products. The company’s resins for coatings are sold under the Pliolite®, Plioway®, Pliotec®, and Hydro Pliolite® brands.
