Benjamin Moore Begins Online Sales

Benjamin Moore has begun selling and delivering direct to consumers via a new e-commerce addition to its Web site, benjaminmoore.com.

The Benjamin Moore “Shop Now” virtual store, accessible from the Web site’s navigation bar, features a range of the brand’s top-selling interior paints plus sundry painting accessories, brushes, rollers, trays, patching compound and color fan decks representing about 2,500 of the company’s 3,300-plus colors.

Online tools and information about paint purchasing are also available. Purchases may be made using Visa, MasterCard or American Express, with delivery by UPS ground or air.

The seven paint products offered online are from Benjamin Moore’s “Green Promise” portfolio. They are self-priming Aura paint, Aura Bath and Spa, Natura, ben Interior, WB Ceiling Paint, Natura Primer; and ben Primer. Both gallon and quart sizes are sold.

Although general sales are available, the e-commerce program is currently directed toward consumers, not professional painting contractors, the company notes. Some product offerings and color collections are limited, and no contractor discounts are available.

Working in a Independent paint store for over 30 years and slowly watching Benjamin Moore Take over. First it was signature, then product exclusivity ... and now taking sales out of our store ... we must as a group, stand up and let them know we will not take it and we are the reason they are who they are ... as our customers put money in our pocket, we put money in their pocket ... time to become independent, as we wish to be, sell MORE paint, not Moore
