Cortec® Corporation (St. Paul, MN) has added EcoLine® 3220 to its line of environmentally safe, biodegradable corrosion protection products made from renewable resources. According to the company, the VOC-free product forms a film that adheres to metal surfaces.
The product is canola-based with Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitors (VpCIs) and works well for corrosion protection in high humidity and chlorine environments, the company says. It can be applied to metal, rubber, or plastic by dipping, spraying, or brushing.
Typical uses include machines and equipment, pipes, temporary coating for storage and shipping, sheet metals, ballast tank preservation, and low temperature applications.
