Industrial Scientific Corporation (Pittsburgh, PA) has announced that its Board of Directors elected Justin McElhattan as president and chief executive officer, effective January 1, 2010. The company provides gas detection equipment and services.
McElhatten will have full and direct responsibility for day-to-day operations and for increasing the growth of the company's worldwide business units and subsidiaries.
McElhattan has served as president and chief operating officer since February 2008 and as a member of the board since 2006. He has been with the company since 1998 in management and executive positions. He previously worked for Sheridan Safety and for Safeco.
