CDCLarue Industries (Tulsa, OK) has announced the development of the Pulse-Bac® PB-550, the company’s first portable compact dust vacuum for power tools.
The unit is designed to collect dust and debris generated by power tools used to sand, grind, or cut dry, non-combustible materials.
Standing 25 in. tall, and with a diameter of 16 in., the vacuum can generate more than 121 cubic feet per minute of air flow, with 74 in. of lift, the company says. The unit is equipped with its manufacturer’s patented Pulse-Bac Automatic Self-Cleaning Vacuum Control Technology, which allows the vacuum to operate for long extended periods of time without dust clogging the filters. The technology, the company says, results in increased productivity while providing a healthy and clean environment when work is being performed on materials such as lead paint, concrete, asbestos, drywall, stone, wood, and fiberglass.
The vacuum uses a two-stage filtration process. The first stage of filtration uses twist-on filters that are made from a non-woven, coated spun bond polyester and can capture dust particles as small as 0.5 micron. The second stage filtration uses a high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter designed to eliminate 99.97% of dust particles of 3 microns.
Weighing less than 30 lbs and capable of holding up to 8 gallons of dust, the vacuum can be moved easily from work truck to jobsite and back again, the company says. The pull handle allows the user to tip the unit backwards and pull it across any terrain. When not being moved, it stays securely in place. The unit is equipped with a self-locking 20-foot x 1.5-inch vacuum hose that locks into the vacuum inlet, thereby preventing the hose from being pulled out of the vacuum when in use. The collection tank can be fitted with a six-mil plastic bag for dust containment and removal.
