PRODUCTS & TECHNOLOGY: Concrete Stain for Existing Surfaces

L.M. Scofield Company introduced SCOFIELD® Refresh™ Exterior Stain for use on existing, unsealed exterior colored or uncolored concrete surfaces in need of refurbishment or renovation.

The product is reported to add a measured amount of color to the concrete without producing a paint-like appearance. Due to the stain’s penetration and reaction with the concrete, no film is formed, and the color becomes part of the surface. The resulting look approximates the appearance of newly placed concrete, the company says.

The product is recommended for use where faded concrete color could use a treatment that restores the “new” look, or where consistency is needed for mismatched color. It is formulated for installation on horizontal concrete surfaces using hand-pump sprayers or rollers. The stain is offered in shades that approximate all the colors depicted on the company’s color chart for A-312 CHROMIX® Admixtures for Color-Conditioned® Concrete.
