Bayer MaterialScience (Leverkusen, Germany) has announced that it will expand its capacity to produce one of its lines of aliphatic polyisocyanates for coatings at the company’s integrated site in Caojing, near Shanghai in China.
The company has been producing Desmodur® N polyisocyanates at Caojing since April 2003. The plant has increased the capacity to 27,000 tons per year to meet the growing demand in Asia, particularly China, in the general industrial, automotive, and plastics market.
The product is a solvent-free aliphatic polyisocyanate resin based on hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI).
