The Sustainable Buildings Industry Council (SBIC) has extended the deadline to 5 p.m. this Friday, Nov. 6, for submission of entries in the council’s 2009 Beyond Green High-Performance Building Awards program.
Winners of awards will be named in two categories—High-Performance Buildings and High-Performance Initiatives—and will be invited to Washington, DC, in February for an educational briefing for lawmakers and the public. The winning entries also will be featured on SBIC’s website and on the Whole Building Design Guide, which currently reports a total of more than 250,000 users.
A new subcategory of projects will be recognized for the first time in the 2009 awards, in the category of renovation, retrofit, and historic reuse.
More information, including all program materials, the program criteria, and entry forms, is available on the website located at www.sbicouncil.org.
