NGPP Contest Teams Up Suppliers, Paperhangers

Monday, November 2, 2009

Wallcovering installers, designers and manufacturers will team up to show off their best in a new competition hosted by the National Guild of Professional Paperhangers.

The goal of the project,  “The Art of Wall,” is to provide publicity for all facets of the wallcovering industry by featuring outstanding projects and their creators.

An installer, manufacturer and designer will work as a team to create “a beautiful one-of-a kind room that will stimulate the consumer’s interest in wallcovering while advertising for the project team,” according to NGPP.

NGPP will feature a limited number of the entries on its web site, with links to each participant. There will also be information explaining the product, the design plan and details of the installation.

If a project needs an installer, a designer and or manufacturer, NGPP will help with the collaboration.

Registrations will be accepted until Dec. 31 at www.ngpp.org. Slots will be awarded Feb. 1, 2010, based on the entry’s challenging and unique characteristics. The project completion date is Aug. 1, 2010, and completed presentation collaterals are due by Sept. 1, 2010.

“What a great, creative way to promote wallcovering and those who design, install and manufacture within the industry,” NGPP said in a statement. “This project will strengthen the professional installer’s presence, market individuals, provide a means to showcase skills with respect to elaborate designs and unusual and high-end wallcoverings, while at the same time collaborating with some of the industry’s most prominent designers and manufacturers.

“It’s a win-win for all the industry.”
