Addressing statistics that still show nearly one ladder-related death each day, Little Giant Ladder Systems has rolled out three “safe ladder” products with enhanced stability features.
“The U.S. leads the world in reported ladder deaths,” with more than 300 deaths and 532,000 injuries a year from ladder-related accidents, the company noted this week in introducing its new products at the National Safety Congress in Orlando.
“At Little Giant Ladder Systems, we are committed to keeping people safe,” said company president H. Arthur Wing. Wing said the new ladders’ features made them the first products in “the entirely new ‘safe ladder’ category.”
The products are:
• SumoStance, a wide-stance extension ladder with adjustable outriggers that triple its base width, increasing side-tip stability. Tilt angle and level indicators help users position the ladder properly.
• SelectStep, a heavy-duty-rated multi-position stepladder with built-in standing platform that can be safely used on stairs and sloping ground.
• MicroBurst, featuring an extra-wide rear base and the company’s StableLock steel spreader system, to minimize ladder shifting or walking.
