General Equipment Co. (Owatonna, MN) has introduced a lightweight flooring stripper, the FCS10 Rip-R-Stripper™, to its line of surface preparation equipment.
The unit is designed for industrial, commercial, and residential work. Electric-powered, the new model is a compact alternative to larger, heavier walk-behind units, the company says. Featuring an operational weight of only 40 pounds (18 kg), the unit allows the operator to transport it more easily than a larger unit. The small size also provides better maneuverability in confined areas, the company says. The machine’s lightweight handle is made of a high-tech, composite tube, offering better weight and vibration reduction than steel or aluminum.
Several blade options are available to handle different materials and applications. These include 6- and 10-inch angled blades for removing mastics; 6- and 10-inch straight blades for removing vinyl composite tile; and an 8-inch scoring blade for removing glued-back carpet and linoleum.
