Dutch Boy is seeking the “ugliest, stinkiest room in America” in a new contest to highlight its odor-eating paint, Refresh.
Until Sept. 30, homeowners and building owners may enter photos and descriptions of their smelliest rooms in the hope of gaining Dutch Boy’s grand prize: 50 gallons of Refresh paint and $5,000. Second and third prizes are also available.
Visitors to www.myhousestinks.com may vote on the stinky nominees for a chance to win four gallons of Refresh paint.
Dutch Boy launched the promotion April 1 to promote Refresh, which it calls “the first and only paint with Arm & Hammer® odor-eliminating technology that beautifies your home and freshens the air.”
“The beauty of the paint lasts a lifetime. The odor elimination life span depends on the concentration of the odors, the frequency of exposure and the amount of surface area you cover. The more surface area you paint, the better the odor-eliminating technology works!” Dutch Boy says.
Refresh was introduced in August 2008. Features include:
• Exceptional hide and durability
• Mildew-resistant coating
• Zero VOC
• Greenguard Indoor Air Quality Certified
• Limited Lifetime Warranty
Refresh is also available in ceiling paint and trim paint and in flat, eggshell and satin sheens..
Consumers have responded eagerly to Dutch Boy’s call to “Share your Stink.” The entrants have included Jovan B., of Dayton, Ohio, who moved into a home permeated by the smell of cat urine; and Michael W., of California, who is “sick and tired of people telling me that my house smells like the old folks home!”
