Tips Issued on Work Platform Safety

Tuesday, August 25, 2009

Comment | More

A new safety document for construction workers, "Mast Climbing Work Platform (MCWP) Safety Tips," has been developed through an Alliance Program between the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) and the Scaffold Industry Association (SIA). Available at no charge, the Safety Tips are designed to help personnel perform their work safely on mast climbing equipment.

“The recently approved Mast Climbing Work Platform Safety Tips are a great first step toward making the public more aware of what needs to be considered when using this type of equipment. We look forward to working with OSHA, through the Alliance Program, to develop more safety-related material and see this as an opportunity to reach even more of the work force to help educate them on the safe use of mast climbing work platforms,” said Greg Janda, SIA Mast Climbing Council Chair.

The Scaffold Industry Association (SIA), based in Des Plaines, IL, is a non-profit trade 501(c)(6) association committed to raising the standards of professionalism within the scaffold and access industry through training, publications, and other outreach efforts.
