Roman Architectural Products has unveiled an awards program for professional faux finishers and decorative artists.
The awards program will recognize the craft and artistry of decorative painters in a number of categories and skill levels, to be determined by a panel of advisors who will also serve as judges. While Roman is sponsoring the program, there will be no restrictions regarding the type or brand of products used.
“It’s an honor to be able to sponsor an awards program for professional faux finishers and decorative artisans,” said Jerry Russo, president and CEO of Roman Architectural Finishes. “The awards are being created to celebrate the wonderful work that is being done by these talented professionals in homes and commercial spaces across North America.”
Russo announced the awards program last month at the 24th Annual International Decorative Artisans League Convention and Exposition in Memphis. He indicated that winners would receive both a special memento of their achievement, in the form of a sculpted bust depicting Michelangelo, as well as a monetary award.
Details regarding entry requirements and deadlines will be announced in early September. Winners will be announced at the 25th Annual International Decorative Artisans League (IDAL) Convention and Expo, which is scheduled for July 21-25, 2010, in Portland, Ore.
Roman Architectural Finishes is based in Calumet City, Ill., and is the manufacturer of a number of decorative painting products.
