Miller Paint Company has become the first Northwest paint company to earn re-certification under Green Seal’s stringent new GS-11 guidelines.
Recertified July 24 was the company’s Acro Pure, an ultra-low VOC interior paint that had been certified under the previous GS-11 standard.
The company is only the third to meet the strict 2008 GS-11 standard.
“We believe that Green Seal is the premium seal of approval for environmentally responsible products and are very proud that Acro Pure meets their stringent standards,” says Paul Sawyer, Miller’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
Employee-owned Miller Paint (www.millerpaint.com), based in Portland, Ore., has been in business since 1890. With 33 stores spanning the I-5 corridor from Ashland, Ore., to Lynnwood, Wash., Miller Paint specializes in paint “made in the Northwest, for the Northwest.”
Green Seal (www.greenseal.org) is an independent non-profit organization that sets standards for environmentally responsible products. Green Seal certification is based on manufacturing practices, VOC content, performance standards, and the absence of 1000+ chemical compounds.
