The Journal of Architectural Coatings (JAC) and www.jacjournal.com have led the launch of the PaintSquare Webinars & Education section on www.paintsquare.com with the recent presentation of the webinar “Cool Roofs, Cool Coatings: Energy Efficiency When the Heat is On.” The PaintSquare Webinars & Education section focuses on the exchange of state-of-the-art technical information for the coatings industry, and features descriptions and registration links for industry-specific webinars.
JAC, www.jacjournal.com, and PaintSquare are owned by Technology Publishing Company, based in Pittsburgh, PA. The company also publishes the Journal of Protective Coatings & Linings (JPCL) and Painting & Wallcovering Contractor (PWC).
Webinar is short for Web-based seminar. Participants view the presentation through their web browser and listen to the audio through their telephone. Webinars are interactive and attendants have the ability to give, receive, and discuss information.
The webinar program on cool roofs was presented on June 11 by Andre Desjarlais, group leader, Building Envelopes Research, Oak Ridge National Laboratory. A recording of the program can be viewed on the JAC website, located at www.jacjournal.com., and on www.paintsquare.com. Registrations for the live webinar totaled nearly 300.
The next webinar, scheduled for 2 p.m. Aug. 20, is “Air-Barrier Systems for Sustainable Masonry Walls,” presented by Chris Bupp, architectural and educational services, Hohmann & Barnard. The program is offered free of charge at www.jacjournal.com or www.paintsquare.com. Registration for the program is available at either website.
PaintSquare’s Webinars & Education section also includes sponsored content, which houses white papers from the coatings industry’s equipment and materials suppliers. PaintSquare also plans to offer training videos and training courses in this section in the near future.
PaintSquare is the source for complete coverage of the coatings industry, online and in print, with thousands of pages of technical information and industry news, a comprehensive directory of product and service suppliers, and various e-tools, most of which are available at no charge.
PaintSquare is an online portal to JPCL, JAC, and PWC; archived issues of all three publications are available in the online technical library.
PaintSquare also hosts Paint BidTracker, the only project-leads service designed specifically for the coatings industry; a Career Center for employers and prospective employees; the MarketPlace, a forum to sell new and used equipment and coatings; and web-dynamic versions of the annual buying guides and directories of the publications.
