Contractors, builders and industry professionals can now visualize colors remotely for their residential or commercial spaces with the new ColorSnap Apple iPhone application from Sherwin-Williams, available for download at swcolorsnap.com.
ColorSnap is a free color-matching app that allows users to quickly capture hues from their surroundings and match them to more than 1,500 Sherwin-Williams colors.
The application is quick and easy. Users upload a photo from an existing photo library or snap a new photo from nature or any existing décor. With a finger, they can scroll around the image to locate the exact hue to be matched. ColorSnap will immediately offer the closest matching Sherwin-Williams color, RGB value and a coordinating palette. The palette can be saved to “My Saved Colors” for future reference; the application will also locate the nearest Sherwin-Williams store.
Benjamin Moore recently unveiled a similar application, called ben Color Capture, that allows users to match colors to one of the more than 3,300 hues in Benjamin Moore’s color system.
