The SSPC Northern CA/NV Chapter will hold a meeting on June 18 at Jeffco Painting & Coating, Inc./ABC on Mare Island in Vallejo, CA. The meeting is titled, “The Shop Coating Process from Fabrication to Field.”
Ten different stations will be set up to demonstrate the do’s and don’ts of fabrication as related to surface preparation and the coating process. Stations will include
• specifications and libations,
• surface preparation,
• zinc vs. galvanized architectural finishes,
• inaccessible areas,
• welding issues,
• flame cut edges,
• sharp edges,
• handling and transportation,
• contact and holdback areas, and
• shop inspection/third party.
Shops with apprentices enrolled in a state-approved program may attend as guests of the chapter, at no charge.
