NARI Honors 27 Contractors of the Year

The National Association of the Remodeling Industry has announced its 2009 Contractor of the Year Awards, honoring 27 remodeling contractors nationwide for a variety of residential remodeling projects.

The awards were presented March 28 at NARI’s Evening of Excellence, the closing event for its annual convention, held this year in Atlanta.

Contractors from seven regions nationwide vie for the awards. Most projects submitted for judging were an improvement or an addition to an existing structure, with the exception of the category “Residential Exterior Specialty.” Otherwise, new-construction projects were not eligible.

Projects were completed between July 1, 2007, and Nov. 30, 2008. Winners were selected on the basis of each entrant’s “before and after” photography and project description. Judging criteria included problem solving, functionality, aesthetics, craftsmanship, innovation, degree of difficulty and entry presentation.
