Entries are due May 1 for the International Concrete Repair Institute’s annual awards, which recognize outstanding concrete repairs in several categories.
Winning projects will be honored at the Awards Banquet during ICRI’s 2009 Fall Convention. Each winning project will be featured in an article in the Concrete Repair Bulletin.
Award categories are: • High-Rise • Historic • Industrial • Longevity • Low-Rise • Masonry • Parking Structures • Special Project • Strengthening • Transportation • Water Systems
Entries will be judged on uniqueness, use of state-of-the-art methods, use of materials, functionality, value engineering and aesthetics. The panel of five judges—selected by the ICRI Awards Committee—consists of engineers, contractors and manufacturers.
Projects must be either completed after January 1, 2007, or have been substantially complete before March 31, 2009. Projects entered in the “Longevity” category must have been completed before Dec. 31, 1999. Original and current photos of the longevity project are required.
Entrant companies must be ICRI company members. The portion of the project performed by the submitting company must amount to at least 25 percent of the project cost. (This does not apply to design firms or owners.) A subcontract for the repair portion of a larger project will be considered as the project.
Entries are due at the ICRI office in Des Plaines, IL, on May 1, 2009. For rules or entry forms, call 847-827-0830 or visit www.icri.org.
