Craftsmanship Series Targets Exteriors

Wednesday, March 11, 2009

The Painting and Decorating Contractors of America has released a new Residential Exterior Series of Craftsmanship Operating Procedures (COPs) through PDCA’s Craftsmanship Forum.

COPs include a tool and equipment checklist, references to PDCA Standards, appearance standards, production rates, procedure steps, professional techniques, open-book and closed-book tests, and other information. The 20-part Interior COPs Series was released in 2007.

“COPs are designed to help painting contractors standardize their field processes, improve quality, increase efficiency and reduce costs.  By implementing COPs, contractors can gain a competitive edge in this tough economic environment.” said Mario Guertin, president of the Craftsmanship Forum.

The Exterior COPs Series can be purchased as a subscription, with 10 immediately available and the rest delivered as they are released. The cost is $350 for PDCA members; $495 for non-members. For more information, visit www.pdca.org.
