The International Roofing Expo® (IRE) announced plans for educational sessions to be offered as part of the event, scheduled for Feb. 3-5 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Las Vegas, NV.

The program will include 48 educational sessions divided into eight program tracks and addressing key aspects of roofing such as technical, workplace safety, leadership/management, green building, legal/HR, money matters, sales/service, and general business, said Donna Bellantone, IRE director.

The target audience includes commercial/residential/metal contractors, owners/CEOs/general managers, superintendents/foremen, architects/designers/consultants, salesmen/estimators, manufacturers/ suppliers, and building owners/facility managers.

Of the 48 sessions, 92% involve new topics, with six of the most popular sessions of 2008 to return due to demand, A new “green-building” track will focus on energy efficiency, green roofs, solar energy, and how the green movement affects the roofing industry.

Program highlights will include a keynote address, “Nothing but Net,” by NCAA and NBA basketball standout Bill Walton. The Roofing Expo will feature nearly 500 companies in 1,050 exhibit booths.

Bill Good, executive vice president of the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA), the show’s official sponsor, said the conference program will address “the most relevant topics taught by the industry's leading authorities.” The show and conference are operated by Hanley Wood Exhibitions.

All 48 sessions have been approved by the American Institute of Architects Continuing Education System [AIA/CES] learning units (Lus) and the RCI Inc. continuing education hours (CEHs). The full conference scheduled can be reviewed on the website located at www.TheRoofingExpo.com.
