Protective coating supplier Raven Lining Systems (Broken Arrow, Oklahoma) recently announced two new additions to its AquataPoxy line of epoxies for potable water: AquataPoxy 90 and AquataPoxy 190.

AquataPoxy 90 is an epoxy lining designed to serve as a direct-to-metal anti-corrosion coating; it can be used as a standalone coating or as a surface-tolerant primer compatible with a variety of topcoats. With less than 100 grams per liter of VOCs, the coating meets California air quality standards, the company says.

AquataPoxy 90 and AquataPoxy 190 are new additions to Raven's AquataPoxy line of coatings for potable water service.

AquataPoxy 90 cures tack-free in three to four hours at 72 degrees Fahrenheit. The product comes in pre-packaged kits of the two components, which are to be mixed at a 4-1 ratio. The coating has a five-minute induction time and can be applied via conventional or airless spray; brush and roller are acceptable but not recommended.

AquataPoxy 190 is a red oxide epoxy primer/finish coating, with a VOC level of 166 grams per liter, also compliant with California standards. It is approved for tanks greater than five gallons and pipes larger than 4 inches in diameter.
