A leading construction safety organization has a free holiday gift for the industry: a year’s worth of ready-to-use materials to educate workers about daily jobsite dangers.

CPWR: The Center for Construction Research and Training has developed 52 free, downloadable toolbox talks on common construction hazards—one for each week of the year. The range of topics includes confined spaces, lead exposure, roof collapse, silica, wet concrete and workplace stress.

Center for Construction Research and Training free toolbox talks

CPWR developed the 52 toolbox talks with National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health.

The topics combine graphics with brief, interactive talks and are designed to be printed as a two-sided document so that the graphic can be shown to a class or crew while the foreman or discussion leader uses the text to ask questions and read facts.

CPWR says it worked with the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health to ensure that the series  incorporated effective elements, such as case studies based on real-life incidents, discussion questions, and site-specific actions.

More Information

All of the toolbox talks are available for free download on the center's website:

More topics and talks can also be found on the electronic Library of Construction Occupational Safety and Health.

CPWR is dedicated to reducing occupational injuries, illnesses and fatalities in the construction industry. The nonprofit offers research, training and service programs.
